What does the Blood
test will NOT screen for?
The blood test will not screen for Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea,
Mycoplasama, Ureaplasma, Trichomonas, Gardnerella, Herpes SImplex I and II or HPV (the virus that causes Genital Warts). It
is therefore important to give us all the information in the Patient Details Sheet so that we can advise
you if you need to consider a consultation or to discuss further tests. See URINE PCR Pack for details of

Registering your Blood Test Pack
Once you get your Pack please register it
to get your unique confidential ID before taking the sample.
You must do this online - see pack registration
You
will be asked for the Pack No. and for the information in the Patient Details Sheet.
This allows us to preserve your confidentiality
in all correspondence with the laboratory.

Sample Collection and Getting
Your Blood Sample TakenRemember that if you have had recent exposure to a Sexual Transmitted
Infection it may take some time for it to show up in your blood.
You will need to arrange for someone to take your blood sample.

A sample taking fee may be charged. Make sure you take your
postal pack and/or request form. Ensure that the request
form is enclosed with the samples.

Sample Labeling
Ensure the Blood Test Tube is labelled with your ID, Pack No.
DOB, TIME and DATE of sample. Once you have preprared your blood sample put it in the the Sample Container provided. .
Packaging the Bloos Test Tube
Wrap
the filled Blood Test Tube with absorbent paper provide.
Place the filled Blood Test
Tube in the Plastic Transport Container.
Ensure the lid is on tightly
Place the Plastic Transport Container and the Laboratory
Request From in the Prepaid Postal Jiffy Bag
Posting the sample
Please post
the sealed Prepaid Postal Jiffy Bag as soon as possible after the sample is produced.
What if the results are NEGATIVE?
If
the results are NEGATIVE we will notify you by your chosen method..
You will not require
a consultation but we would be happy to arrange one if you wish to discuss them or any other issues or concerns.
What if the results are POSITIVE?
If the
results are POSITIVE we will notify you by your chosen method.
We can then arrange for a private consultation
or you can make your own arrangements for further management and treatment as you wish. Alternatively you can contact your
